I hope you had a wonderful Canada Day! What an amazing day it was!
I am in Panama now working on setting up the National University of Medical Sciences School of Medicine (NUMSSOM). But I did celebrate Canada Day grandly with some yummy fruits!
After months of searching for the “Angry Bad Boy,” I finally found the perfect one! Even better, I was able to buy it remotely from a neighbor in Bobcaygeon and save about $10,000 compared to buying from a dealership! What a fantastic Canada Day surprise!
But that wasn’t the only exciting news.
Earlier yesterday, one of our alumni shared some wonderful information with me. A new association recognized by Canada Life now accepts graduates of the Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) program from National University of Medical Sciences – Spain.
There was already another Canada Life-recognized association that accepted graduates of the PhD in Osteopathic Clinical Sciences from National University of Medical Sciences – USA this year. This means graduates of both of our osteopathic doctoral programs now have access to two additional associations that are recognized by Canada Life and other major insurers across Canada.
Then, later in the day, I received even more great news! Another Canada Life-recognized association also now accepts graduates of the DOMP program from National Academy of Osteopathy (Canada/USA)!
This is truly exciting news for our alumni and another positive step forward for our profession.
For NAO graduates, I highly encourage you to consider enrolling in the NUMSS (USA) Triple Degree (ND/DIIM/PhD) program this September. Thanks to our scholarship, you can complete all three degrees while essentially paying for just one. These qualifications can open additional opportunities in both Canada and the United States, including an expanded scope of practice in the U.S. and eligibility to join associations that provide access to billing certain insurers in Canada for naturopathic services, where permitted.
In addition, the NUMSS (USA) PhD in Osteopathic Clinical Sciences provides eligibility for another Canada Life-recognized association, giving graduates two affordable membership options.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the small group of alumni who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help make these achievements possible. They are the heroes. For now, I will keep their names confidential, but once everything is finalized, I look forward to recognizing them publicly. Their generosity, dedication, and commitment have benefited our entire osteopathic family, and I am deeply grateful for everything they have done.
Wishing you a beautiful day and continued success.
